That is why we decided to join the prestigious Biosphere Tourism seal, an internationally recognised tourism sustainability certification.
Biosphere develops certifications to guarantee compliance with sustainability requirements and principles and continuous improvement, through a private, voluntary and independent certification system that dozens of tourist destinations (Pyrenees and Terres de Lleida, Tossa de Mar, Vilafranca del Penedès, the Northern British Columbia Tourism Region, etc.) and agencies in the sector have joined.
That is why we have a collaboration agreement with Moana Eco Surf House in the Basque Country. A new accommodation concept where we can enjoy nature as well as excellent comfort. Located just 400 metres from the beach, it has unique facilities in the middle of a spectacular setting that allows us to do activities such as surfing, skateboarding and hiking, or visit Bilbao with its spectacular Guggenheim, San Juan de Gaztelugatxe or Butrón Castle. The facilities include a spa, a geodesic dome, more than 2,000 m2 of garden, and large indoor and outdoor terraces.
Its commitment to an ecological future is clear: the entire building is of modern design, made of timber from sustainable forests in the Basque Country and with top-quality insulation. There is a landscaped area with more than 60 trees, solar panels, charging points for electric cars, rainwater harvesting, and thermal and acoustic insulation. They make reduced use of plastic and paper, they recycle, and the kitchen, besides serving exquisite meals, has vegetarian and vegan options!
