Dublin's public transport network is rather poor compared with other European capitals, because it is inconvenient to pay for and expensive. For this reason, we recommend walking as much as possible to each destination.
You can get around the city by bus or tram, and these are the corresponding fares:
Buses in Dublin: The most popular public transport in Dublin, and sometimes the only way to reach certain places in the city. Most are double-deckers with plenty of capacity, so they are not usually full. The price of buses varies depending on the number of stops between the origin and the destination. A 10-journey pass costs €25, and a 5-day pass costs €32.10.
Tram in Dublin (Luas): The tram system is called Luas, which currently has two lines, and it is fast, clean, stylish and more or less punctual, but it only serves very specific neighbourhoods of the city. The price varies depending on the zones. We recommend buying the Leap Card, which is cheaper, and the student price for 1 day is €5.
There are passes that combine buses and trams. The price is €10 per day and €40 for 7 days.
